Steel Wire Rope Testing and Proof Loading: Ensuring Safety and Reliability
Steel wire rope plays a hugely critical role in lifting, rigging and load bearing applications. To ensure safety and performance testing is essential. Here at Deacon Wire we recommend routine proof loading for all critical applications or destructive “pull-testing” for new designs. We perform proof testing at two times the WLL (Working Load Limit) or SWL (Safe Working Load) for a minimum duration of two minutes, however this can be tailored to your specific needs. Each test ensures each component in your assembly can withstand the intended load.
